Name the exact upgrade blocking progress, identify its missing resource, then time two nearby stages under the same party and conditions. Favor usable returns over a stable sample, including resets and failed runs.
Start with the blocked upgrade
Write the next purchase in one line. Then name the one resource preventing it. Total loot is a distraction if it does not move that purchase closer.
The two-stage test
- Keep the party and settings fixed.
- Run a stable stage for a short timed sample.
- Run the next candidate stage for the same amount of time.
- Compare the target resource, clear consistency, and time lost to failures.
Why the highest stage may lose
A higher stage can look better while producing fewer usable returns when the party slows down, dies, or spends too long between clears. A slightly lower stable route can win on repeatability.
When to retest
Retest after a meaningful damage upgrade, survival milestone, party change, or patch. Farming efficiency is contextual; a result from an older build is not permanent.
